The Solution

To reflect Latin American heritage, our team created visuals that were inspired by the handmade nature and patterns of bordados (traditional embroidery) that are commonly found in Latin America. To celebrate the new Latino-owned business attribute, we brought the flower icon to life with some motion design love, a blooming effect, and animated thread that served as the map for the flower’s bloom.

Process

Our team began by doing a bit of research during the ideation phase where we storyboarded ideas for typographic and floral animations. As a child, I would sketch flowers onto fabric that she would later embroider into these really ornate patterns. This little nugget was brought into the animation as a pattern base to reflect the stitching process for the flower’s bloom. We then animated ideas until reaching a final animation that was launched on social media.
